Happy New Year 2022

This year,
I wish you love
Unconditional love
From yourself
I hope you light up those deepest, darkest places in you
With your love
I hope you forgive all your mistakes
I hope you love your singing voice
Irrespective of its likeness to a bird song or a donkey's bray
I hope you love your dancing moves
Irrespective of its likeness to a peacock or a duck
I hope you love your body and its curves
Or the lack of it
I hope you learn to love yourself without any *
Without any ?
I hope you love yourself with the certainly of a .
For how do we love someone else
If we can't love ourselves first
I wish you a wonderful New Year
Old you or new you,
Whoever you are
Alone or someone's
Whatever you are
I wish you love
Unconditionally.

Hanging out with books (Not HP) - Chapter 1

I was enthralled and serenaded to sleep by Rachel McAdams last night. Jealous much?

I serendipitously stumbled upon an audiobook performed by Rachel and the book is Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

Move over Kate Winslet's Matilda, I have found a new favorite rendition.

The tone of her voice, the way she gets into each character and the mood of the story itself, such an abundance of pleasure to listen to at night (Of course would be quite similar during the day but I prefer the quiet of the night time).

Children's stories make better audiobooks. There's a lot of scope for the reader to make it interesting with all the highs and lows and the rhythm of the words used.

It would be the similar case with horror or suspense I suppose, but I'm sort of scared to listen to Stephen King's novels at night (I'm yet to read one). Reading horror would affect me more than watching it as a movie.

I did listen to Murder on the Orient Express performed by John Moffat and I was concentrating too much on understanding the words because I found the accent a bit too thick to casually follow.

Though I'd give anything to listen to such a performance by Scarlett Johansson. ๐Ÿ’

You could get the books too, if you wish. All of these are  on audible and should be available to download somewhere else too, I don't know ๐Ÿ˜›.

I'll try to share a little more every day as I progress with the books. Happy reading / listening!

The chamber of secrets

Ooh, I kinda forgot that Chamber of Secrets is the funniest book of the series. Most credits to Gilderoy of course. The movie did not do enough justice to him. He was quite funny, yes, but a lot of memorable stuff got lost in the translation I suppose.

We all have our chamber of secrets. Probably (more like definitely) not the one like Salazar Slytherin built but something/someplace in our heart/mind where we have stuffed a few happy little secrets, shoved our dark, unsavory thoughts or actions and a lot of feelings that could not be shared or expressed due to the circumstances or limitations.

What starts off as a small bundle of eclectic stuff gradually and sometimes exponentially grows into an unwieldy infinitude. And at some point, it becomes so similar to a basilisk that looking at its eyes may take your life (excuse the exaggeration). Won't it be better to not let it get so huge instead?

Once we understand the issue at hand, maybe we could start addressing things one tiny bundle at a time and fix it if we can or just let go.

We have seen time and again that not everything is in our control. There's no use worrying about something that we know for a fact that we can't change. So why think about it, give it space and time? Let it go.

Let it gooooo (Belting off like Elsa)

Yup, started with HP and ending with Frozen, I'm becoming Benjamin Button, yes! (Ollivander would say Curious! Very curious! But I'm neither Harry nor Voldemort :P)

And I forgot talking about the good stuff like sweet gestures from someone that no one else noticed and we don't feel like sharing, tiny mischiefs and naughty stuff that we accomplished successfully without getting caught, etc. Keep them, nourish them and let them grow. They'll probably grow into a flowering plant or a fruitful tree. Let that tree take root and grow tall and wide and I hope it lights up whenever it is dark outside.

July 31st draws near

I tend to be unusually active around this time of the year. No prizes if you guess the reason correctly. I mean it's plenty obvious, it's Harry's birthday.

Though I did write a little bit before I started reading the books, I did write a little more after reading the series. And I always find it easy to write around this time. Interesting content or not, I don't really know, but something flows like a fountain and tis the season.

Lately though I have started feeling if I should keep up with the Potter stuff. 30 draws closer and 25 feels long gone. I'm getting older and maybe I am way old for this.

But I definitely will not let go of HP completely. It has become a part of me, part of who I am, part of how I express things. So yes, this is going to be a continuum. But I'll try to write about other things as well.

And I've decided to put up one post everyday. Yup, every single day. Idk if I'll be able to keep this up, maybe this is a good habit to have after all.

Here's to seeing you all again tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next and so on..

To new habits๐Ÿฅ‚

Ramblings from a night, long long ago..

I dug a real deep hole for myself, like a rabbit burrowing down, looking for comfort and warmth
And I got real comfortable, maybe just a little too much, like a frog in a boiling pot - enjoying the tiny bubbles
All these years of personal anguish has fallen like debris on top
And the scalding vapour is starting to finally get to me
Now I have no other choice but to claw myself out of the hole
And climb on top of the hubris
And I need to do this one step at time
To keep my acrophobia in check
What am I gonna find on the top? Where am I gonna end up?
On the sky?
With the stars?
With the Sun and the Moon?
Under the clouds that brood dark overhead and rain thunderstorms?
Or under a pile of more dust and dirt?
Or is it a void devoid of sound and light?
Or is it simply gonna be freedom?
The freedom of choice.

Valentine's Day

Ah, it is Valentine's Day. For all the couples, Happy V Day! Have fun :)

For people like me, people who're in love but it's one sided, people who just don't care( Ha ha, I probably covered this ground with people like me, but some don't know me. Okay, a lot of you don't know me :P ), I'm posting this playlist.

There's Mad Max Fury Road premiering on HBO at 9. If you wanna watch that instead I'm not gonna tell you no. I myself am gonna watch it now.

If you have nothing else to do or something you can do with music playing in the background, then this playlist is for you. Also, if you are a Rahmaniac, then this is definitely for you.

Don't worry if you are not able to celebrate your love for some person. You can always celebrate your love for books, music, TV, movies and all the fun stuff.

I'm celebrating my love for music here.

The songs listed are in no particular order. Just enjoy falling in love with them.

*Kaadhal Sadugudu -- Alaipayuthey
This is one of the most romantic songs. Love the video, love the movie, love the actors (Duh..). The music, the lyrics and the rendition, whoa, love <3 Especially the waves kinda sound in the song. Absolute bliss.

*Sanda Kozhi -- Ayudha Ezhuthu
This song, this goose prickles creating, heart beat raising, makes you feel like you are flying song. You've gotta listen to it if you haven't before. You have already? Doesn't hurt listening again :P The lyrics are good, the rendition better, the part where ARR sings, the best..!! Love it, love it, love it!

*Nenjinile -- Uyire
One Janaki's song I completely love. No offense, but I'm not exactly a fan of her voice. This song though. The lyrics are a bit, you know. I mean, a good you know ;) It'll probably take you a while to understand. There's a bit Malayalam in it I did not get that, but I sing the song, all parts :D

*Nenjam Ellam -- Ayudha Ezhuthu
Another song with the lyrics a bit "you know". But this is one of the *awesomest* songs. Love it for the music and the lyrics. Not a fan of Esha Deol :P The music is a new level of sexiness. It just oozes love, the chemistry and physics and zoology :P You listen to it, you'll understand.

*Arabic Kadaloram -- Bombay
Whoahhh, the music!! ARR's the hero here. The rendition is super awesome. There's one part in the song, one between the stanzas, there's this music, it just takes you places, places high and higher. The lyrics, niiicee ;)

*Pudhu Vellai Mazhai -- Roja
The music! I don't know what instrument that is, but it is just mind blowing. The lyrics are also super awesome. This is ARR's first movie and this is one of my beloved songs. Can't really love anything more.

The list would just go on and on and on.. But I don't wanna write a novel about these songs, I would if I could, but I don't think I can describe these well enough. I'm not doing any justice to them. Just listen to all of these. I prefer wearing headphones/earphones. That way it's easy to get lost in the music.

Gone Girl

Gone Girl - The movie

Wow, watched the movie last night and the one thing that popped out in the end was "Gone Girl is a crazy new level of mindf***".

Damn, I watched it late at night and went to sleep but I couldn't. I was just lying there pondering about the story and the incidents and such. According to me, if any movie makes you think about it, makes you use your brain to wonder about it after you watch the movie, then it is a good movie. That means you haven't just wasted your time on nothing.

I know it's a thriller and all and that it's not exactly a horror movie. But the movie got me scared. Whoa, that's what kept me awake for a long time. The fact that it is possible in real life scared me a lot.

I know it's adapted from a novel and I am thinking the novel will be even more scarier because a lot of the context will be left to our imagination and I will imagine the worst thing almost every time.

I like Ben Affleck and he did suit the role well (though I have huge doubts about him "suiting" a "certain  role"). I should say I liked Argo better. Don't know why exactly, maybe because of the length of the movie. Gone Girl is a tad too long.

Rosamund Pike - the perfect match. She was absolutely perfect as Amy Dunne.

They did not use Neil Patrick Harris well enough, I mean we all know what he is capable of, our beloved Barney.

Overall good job by David Fincher, the cast and yes the screenplay was awesome!

I'd recommend y'all to watch it once.

p.s I was very careful not to give away any spoilers, so there's not much detailed description

Happy Birthday Loverrrrrr :*

Happy Birthday Loverrrrr :*

Today is the birthday of my first love. Whom, you ask? He's none other than the boy wizard who slowly but steadily crept into my heart and now he has a  permanent space in there, forever!

You haven't found the answer yet? Any of you? Any guesses?

Well I ain't gonna give you guys a prize or something for getting it right. Yup, Yuppitty yup yup it is Daniel Radcliffe.

For the ones who have no idea who he is, he is "Harry Potter" and if there's anyone who doesn't know who Harry Potter is, sorry can't help ya. Maybe you don't have anything to read here. You can just skip this.

Damn, Dan is 26!! He seems so older, more mature all of a sudden..

Nay! He will always be the little kid we all grew up with. The one neighbor we've watched out of our windows(TV, Computer, Mobile, etc.) or the one who lived across from us for an hour or two(Theatre/Cinema however you call the movies). We have traveled with him to Surrey, Diagon Alley, Kingscross Station, Hogwarts and many more places.

He will always be the first crush/love for a whole lot of us. Yeah, I know that there are a lot of you out in the world.

I can never imagine anyone else playing the role of Harry Potter. It is almost like he was born to play Harry.

Dude, I'd binge watch the HP movies any day just for you. I don't deny that I am a big ol' Potterhead. Just saying.

I watched the movie "Kill your Darlings" just for my man Dan! (yay, that rhymed xD)
I can swear to that. I watched the movie on YouTube on my mobile. My arms hurt an awful lot, it did not matter.

Dan! If you ever stop acting luv, become a rapper. Man, you have got some mad skills at that.

All things said, there is only one thing left to say right now..

I Love You Daniel Radcliffe!! Will you marry me??

xD nah man!!! It's cool. Just Kidding xD xD
There are obvious height issues you see :P

Seriously though, Love you :*

Happy Birthday :) :)

Harry Potter - The Poem

A tall and skinny boy he is,
A thin scar on his forehead is.
The famous lightning shaped one,
For this will be occurring to none.
The one who defeated the Dark Lord,
When he didn't even understand his gaurd.
With jet-black hair that is never tidy,
Living in a cup-board that's ever untidy.
He is the boxing bag for fat Dudley,
And in secrets he is really meddley.
The one who kills the basilisk,
And tends to take many a risk.
His God Father is Sirius,
He never takes things serious.
He loves to deal with mystery,
And already he is in History!

Bear with me if you find this silly, this was written way back in 2004. I think this is the best I could come up with at that time. Maybe this is the best of all times. There's more to come.. Happy reading Potteroos :D ;) Well, others too :) Have fun you all :P

Back again.. Happy birthday Harry!!

Happy Birthday Harry!!!

Well what other better day to restart blogging than Harry's birthday. After all it's he who kindled the spirit in me, to read, to write, to think and to imagine. The days I read the Harry Potter books were the most memorable one. I never even thought my brain was capable of such awesome imagination, all stuff I experienced in an infinite-D. Yeah, I can't count the number of dimensions and the sheer joy I received. Am grateful to J.K.Rowling for all that. Thank you Harry for all the wonderful times. Thank you Rowling for all that joy.

I've been missing that part of me lately. The part which is crazy, carefree and joyous. This day ignited the passion that was asleep so long. So here I come!

The following is like a poem on Harry Potter. It is very loooonnnnnggggggg as it spans all the seven books. If you are a Potter-maniac you would love it. Others would like it too I hope :)

Happy reading..

:)

This is my tribute to my more than beloved Harry B)

The Terrace

The Terrace - Heaven on Earth

Nah, that's too much. "My safe haven" would be right!
What would I have done if no one thought of building steps to the terrace?
I'd say it's the most private piece of land in our state with just the Sun or the Moon or the Stars for company.
The sky above is our theater's screen where the moving clouds are the actors.
The wintry nights with the cold winds blowing on our face are best experienced from the cocoon of our terrace.
We wouldn't dare to step out onto the streets on a raining night, but we still can climb a fleet of stairs and get to the terrace, it's so close to home that it feels like home itself.
The secret spot to talk with your loved ones on your phone.
The place that you storm to, when a fight erupts in your house.
Swaying trees, nodding at what ever you say when you are angry.
Soothing breeze, that knocks you down to your senses.
Time loses track on the terrace..

Wherever I go, am gonna miss you "My Terrace"!

Random thoughts occur in a random fashion!

All the endings are not the same,
all ain't happy nor all sad.
All don't involve candlelight dinners
nor do they include moonlit porches
with flowers and shrubs, glistening dew.
But all for a fact,
include one thing..
Acceptance!!
Cause without acceptance,
comes no ending at all.
Happy or Unhappy!

Am back blogging after quite a long gap. Well, all is well that ends well and this hasn't ended yet ;)

The terror unleashed by "The Moo Moo"

The Moo Moo's are most probably under the category of animals that do no harm. But for me, they are under the extremely dangerous, XXXXXXXXXXXX category!

Their eyes are facing two different directions and you never know which way they are looking at. All the time I feel that they are watching me. It kinda creeps me out and I feel scared. A lot of people in this world are afraid about stray dogs. But am telling you, stray dogs are a piece of cake when compared to the potentially dangerous Moo Moo's. They come along with you wagging their tail and dripping drool, but when you say "shoo" once, they stop, wait and think. Then they either follow you again or run away behind someone else.

My communications with dogs have been awesomely smooth, so I never had any problems with "The Bow Wow's". All the instances of my communication with Moo Moo's have ended badly, that's the prime cause of the terror that stares in my eye when I look at a Moo Moo..

To add up to that, these days they are bigggg like mini dinosaurs! I saw one today(which compelled me to blog this asap) which of as high as me. When I usually walk past a Moo Moo I say "No Moo Moo, please let me pass" and run away as quick my legs can support me. Today I tried communicating the same to that mini dinosaur(yeah, that's what it is!) and you can't guess what it did!!
It shook its head at me, flashing both its horns. God! I was filled with fear. Had to run away again..

So in the end am posting a request to you all, please do what you can to stop the stray cows from roaming the streets(So much for all my failed attempts of communication, now I've tried to communicate with fellow humans =) )

There must be no more posts on "terror caused by Moo Moo's! (atleast I don't wanna post one again =D )

Buh bye 2012.. Hiiya 2013 ;)

The year 2012 is gone(totally! until someone really invents time travel). All the good and the bad that happened in the year are already travelling in the memory lane to the back of our mind, as we are getting ready to welcome the new year. What 2013 has in store for us, we never know.. Until its 31st Dec 2013!

Whatever comes your way, accept it with a smile. There are great advantages when you are always smiling. Am not gonna bore you about the usual positives that so many muscles are used and blah blah.. These are new and are great too! Well, atleast I always thought so..

*People might think you are crazy, whacko and mental and you can easily escape from whatever they say ;)
*Your eyes become very small and you won't be able to see anything properly. This way you won't be able to identify imperfections and your life will never turn miserable.

I know what you are thinking, if smiling gives us such nice benefits then laughing must be better?!
Oh yeah, of course it IS much better. For one instance if you en-roll yourself in a laughter club and laugh your nose off in a public place, its not only you at the receiving end of the benefits but also others who have a great laughter marathon after watching you. See you end up doing social service!

Well, if I managed to slightly curve both the sides of your mouth upwards after reading this then yay!! Its time  to celebrate!! After all its The New Year.. Happy New Year folks :)

p.s If you are frowning, then am not responsible for your pre-mature ageing problems :P

And thanks for those websites I took the images from. Happy New Year to you too!!

Rain soaked window

The world in itself looks more beautiful when we look through the rain soaked panes. To quote my own Facebook status I put up once "Rain is the best make-up artist! Who else makes those puddles on the road, half built dirty buildings and even the rusty electric cables look beautiful?! Only the rain soaked window panes!!" So here we are folks, am gonna try to present what's out there in a beautiful manner. Let the journey begin!!

And what?! er.. Today ?!?!?

huh huh ha =D

Yep! When's better than the Doom's day itself to start my blog =)

Hope you all have fun..
